Standard factory outer bearing's struggle in extreme amphibious environments. Mud, sand, and wrapped grass can easily destroy the OEM bearings outer seal-the bearings first defense against mud and water intrusion to the internal ball bearings.

The custom-designed aftermarket RBI bearings solve this problem and others with an aggressive, multi-layered defense system:

• Staked Outer Seals: Standard OEM seals can easily separate or pop off and slide down the axle shaft as seen in the image above when thick grass, reeds, or cattails wrap around the axle shaft. The new RBI design features a rugged, permanently staked outer metal seal. This prevents debris from tearing the seal away from the race and exposing the internal seals to the elements.
  
  
• Dual Triple-Lip NBR Internal Seals: Behind the staked outer shield sits a secondary line of defense consisting of internal dual triple-lip Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) seals. This design creates six distinct sealing surfaces per bearing, keeping water, fine dust, and gritty mud out of the internal bearing balls. Normal maintenance of 3-4 pumps of Lucas Marine grease on the vehicles recommended maintenance schedule will keep these seals happy for many miles.
  
  
• Dual Race Ports At 12 & 6 O'Clock: Standard greasing can trap old contaminants inside the assembly. Doc's premium design includes dual race grease ports positioned perfectly at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock. When you pump fresh grease into the flange zerk, the pressurized grease forces water and old contaminants straight out through the bottom port ensuring the bearing always gets grease.
  
  
• Dual Set-Screws Included: To prevent axle slippage and spinning on the axle, these bearings incorporate dual heavy-duty set-screws. This perfectly matches Argo’s native axle machining, locking the inner ring securely to the shaft. On the factory OEM bearings you have to purchase the set-screws separately.
  
  
• Pre-Greased: You do not need to pack these units before installation. Every bearing arrives directly from the factory pre-greased with premium Mobil Polyrex grease. This specific polyurea-thickened lubricant is highly resistant to water washout, offers exceptional mechanical shear stability, and is the industry gold standard for high-moisture applications. It ensures your XTV has maximum lubrication protection from the very first rotation. After installation you will still need 2-3 pumps of grease to pack grease around the bearing to prevent water intrusion into the vehicle.
